The Atlas Economic Research Foundation has grown in recent years, so that its operating budget in 2010 is in excess of $6 million. Atlas has earned Charity Navigator’s highest rating for financial stewardship, in part because of our low level of overhead expense. 85% of our budget goes to programs and to grants that put resources in the hands of independent think tanks advancing the ideas of liberty. The Atlas Economic Research Foundation does not accept any government funding. It relies solely on the generosity of individuals, foundations and corporations that share its commitment to the freedom philosophy.
Because Atlas is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, U.S. citizens will find their donations to be tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law. (This IRS Determination Letter (PDF) documents Atlas’s 501(c)(3) status.)
