Events

lfupcomingAtlas hosts several flagship events throughout the year in order to provide networking and educational opportunities to our friends and partners.  The annual Liberty Forum, takes place each year in April, and is a two day conference that brings together think tankers from around the world to meet, collaborate and learn about current global policy battles and gain management skills for the better running of their institutes. The program, which takes place just after the Heritage Foundation’s annual Resource Bank meeting, features keynote adresses from pilars of the free market movement, from Alvaro Vargas Llosa, to John Allison (BB&T bank) to Jorge Quiroga (former president of Bolivia). In addition, the winners of Atlas’s Fisher Venture Grant program, and Memorial Fisher Award for Publications are announced and honored at this meeting.

A newer annual event, the Atlas Experience, is held each year in mid-August. This event provides a more intimate setting for Atlas’s supporters  and intellectual entrepreneurs to meet and mingle; fostering intellectual discussions and offering renewed inspiration for the work ahead.

One of Atlas’s most recent programs is our Think Tank MBA, a two week intensive training course for think tank leaders. This program takes place just after the Atlas Experience, and provides education on such topics as management, fundraising and event planning.

ttmbaEach Autumn Atlas hosts our Freedom Dinner, in celebration of World Freedom Day and the Fall of the Berlin Wall. This gala dinner celebrates the triumph of freedom over Communism, and features Toasts-to-Freedom from individuals who have overcome great oppression. In addition, Atlas has been honored to host keynote speakers such as radio personality Micheal Reagan,  former president of Nicaragua Francisco Flores and economist Charles Murray.

Finally, each month Atlas hosts International Thursdays, which offer networking opportunities, and give the chance for a local audiance to learn from the work of think tanks abroad.
