OVERVIEW: Atlas-sponsored grants can support specific projects, or provide general operating support to organizations within the Atlas Network. Atlas is not endowed and accepts no government funding, so its capacity to give is restricted by its own fundraising success. Support is typically awarded in modest amounts of $3,000 to $5,000, and only on rare occasions will it exceed $8,000.
PROCESS: A Letter of Inquiry should be sent from the requesting organization and include general information about the organization. Specific guidelines concerning the Letter of Inquiry can be found here.
DEADLINES: Atlas offers two annual submission periods for applicants to submit a Letter of Inquiry:

Letter of Inquiry – Organizations that submit a Letter of Inquiry by email before March 1 will receive a response from Atlas (either a “Request for Proposal” or a letter declining the funding request) by March 15. Specific guidelines concerning the Letter of Inquiry can be found here.
