The Association for Liberal Thinking won the Freda Utley Prize for Advancing Liberty for its workshops held in Istanbul, publication of three reference books, and public policy report on what can be done to improve religious liberty in Turkey. The project was first of its kind in a country where there are plenty of problems with respect to religious freedom. This project largely influenced all religious groups and provided for the Turkish state a map to reform.
