South Korean Economists on the Financial Crisis

Atlas’s partner for a joint conference held in Seoul a couple of months ago, the Center for Free Enterprise recently published several papers written by its friends on the current financial crisis:

Financial Crisis and Economic Freedom by Mr. Bok, Kohill (Novelist):

As the current financial storm has swept through the globe beyond expectable level, anti-liberalists have stepped up their campaign against the free market economic system. The diagnosis that the U.S. type of economic system requiring a minimum government intervention into the market has serious flaws is rather mild. Many people have insisted without reservation that the European economic system with the market heavily regulated by the government is better. Some analysts even defined this turmoil as the crisis for capitalism.

But if you look closely at the reasons behind the financial crisis, you will find those diagnoses have little ground. The mounting criticism only confirms the fact that there are so many people who detest the economic liberalism and capitalism.
