"Now is no time to stumble. There remains a remnant … a potent remnant who has not bowed the knee to big government." Well said - and that remnant supports both liberty and faith.

Civilization's development has always been initiated by individuals balancing demands within their intimate groups against personal needs for independence and identity. Social engineers and planners always error at this point. What they endeavor is to convert humankind from small, intimate, flexible tribes to a collective with one mind (their mind of course). They want to make all the complex human herds and packs composed of individuals into a single hive of drones. They have always failed, and will always fail, for inspired individuals will continue to imagine and accomplish exceptional goals.

It is easy to despair, simple to turn away and hide; as no easy solution presents itself as an anchor for hope - but faith is still the substance of things hoped for, a blueprint for creation.

As Christians, we know the more open a society, the easier it is to present the gospel in its entirety. As free market enthusiasts we understand that free choice is the only basis for exchanging value that creates wealth rather than dispersing it. There is always hope, and it rests with those who have not, and will not, bow to men's demands for expedient obedience.
