In The 2008 Global Survey of Think Tanks, published by University of Pennsylvania,  an Atlas partner in the Middle East Jerusalem Institute for Marker Studies (JIMS) was ranked as one of the most relevant and important institutes in Israel.

On the regional level JIMS was  ranked in the top 18 think tanks in the Middle East and North Africa. In the third category, which included thank tanks throughout the world, JIMS  was ranked among the top 407 most influential think tanks.  This is a considerable accomplishment considering the survey included and evaluated 5,465 think thanks in the world.
