Swedish School Voucher Programs- A Model for the US?

Last September, Pacific Research Institute’s (PRI) Koret Senior Fellow in Education Studies, Lance Izumi, was contacted by The New York Times to write a series of blogs on the education platforms of the presidential candidates. After the election, Lance discussed with  his editor at the Times PRI’s upcoming documentary film, Not as Good as You Think: The Myth of the Middle Class School, based on a PRI book on school choice. One segment of the film, Sweden’s universal school choice program, sparked the interest of his editor. As a result, the Times invited Lance to post an op-ed video on Sweden’s school choice experience on the Times’ website. Pending their ability to secure funding, PRI plans to produce several other film projects within the next couple of years. If you are interested in learning more about these projects, please contact PRI’s John Campbell at jcampbell@pacificresearch.org

PRI won a 1992 Atlas Fisher Award for its book, Free Market Environmentalism, which was published in collaboration with the Political Economy Research Center.
