The Jerusalem Institute for Market Studies recently published their Quarterly Report, which highlights the work of the organization. One of the largest accomplishments of the organization was the creation of the Center for Public Policy. This arm of the organization focuses on educating Members of the Knesset (Isreal’s governing body) on free market principles, free market policy solutions, and offers current policy analysis of bills being presented. Already this new project has garnered the attention of MKs and their work has been mentioned in official meetings and debates.
In addition to this new project JIMS has conducted several policy studies one on the proposal to increase the VAT tax on fruits and vegetables, one on Israels “Welfare to Work” program and one on the government’s plans for financing the national deficit by increasing public debt.
