It’s been a busy week for OrdemLivre.org, “Direito, legislação e liberdade: a obra-prima de Hayek,” a review of Hayek’s work Law, Legislation and Liberty, by Bruno Salama and Lucas Mendes of OrdemLivre.org was published online. In the article, “O vício do coletivismo metodológico,” OrdemLivre.org‘s Editor Diogo Costa discussed the generalizations commonly made when defending free-markets in what he calls the “vice of methodological collectivism.” You can find a translation of Peter Bauer’s short biography in Portuguese, written by James A. Dorn from the Cato Institute on OrdemLivre.org. Bauer was one of the great dissidents of the idea of foreign aid to Africa during the 20th century. His work with development based on individual liberty in poor countries is also highlighted.
Finally, Fabio Ostermann, an Atlas intern working with OrdemLivre, wrote a letter to the editor in the Washington Post about the situation in Honduras entitled, “Yearning for a Stable Democracy in Honduras.” Diogo Costa is also currently traveling to Portugal, Mozambique and Angola over the coming weeks for several meetings and events.
