We’ve got exciting updates from Inliberty.ru the Russian website run by the Atlas Global Initiative. Over the course of the last few weeks seminars with Mont Pelerin Society president Deepak Lal for students at Universities across Russia. Below is a note from Anna Krasinskaya, who has been coordinating these events:
The photos you will find here are from two lectures in Kiev – in Kievo Mogilyanskaya Academy and Agrarnaya Academy, and two events in Moscow: at Moscow State University and Higher school of economics.
This past Friday we hosted a lecture at the Russian Economic School and we have one more to go tomorrow at the European University in Saint Petersburg.Kiev events went very smoothly and we had great attendance. Kievo Mogilyanskaya is the oldest university in Ukraine – both schools had English-speaking kids that and very good discussions followed.
Moscow State University is an old partner – the lecture there went really well: they were in the process of moving to a new building and the lecture had to be held in a smaller room-there were so many students, around a 100, some had to stand in the doors . The Higher school of Economics event was a roundtable that also featured renowned Russian economists Vladimir Mau, Evgeny Yassin (former Minister of Economy and one of the leaders of libertarian economics in Russia) and Egor Gaidar (former Prime Minister). All of them made comments following Deepak Lal’s lecture and discussion ensued. Egor Gaidar praised our Russian edition of Deepak Lal’s book saying that this was a very important book that every educated person should own and read. We had a book stall right there and sold a few copies during and after the event.
Take a look at images of the events here.
