Free to Choose in Korean

The Centre for Free Enterprise, based in Seoul, has just published a translation of Milton Friedman’s Free to Choose. It’s been almost 30 years since the book and TV series first made their way into living rooms in America, but after my recent re-reading of the book and a screening of the Chinese-subtitled version at our Summer School, it’s amazing how well the ideas behind Free to Choose still hold up.

Free to Choose has now been translated into over two dozens languages, surely a testament to its clarity and force. While the Korean version of the book will most likely stay south of the DMZ, one can always hope that it makes it onto Kim Jong-il’s reading list.
