The Secure Free Society (SFS) Network


The following are think tanks around the world that are working towards a free society, by focusing on security issues as either their primary mission, or part of their research agenda.  Some of these think tanks have developed a close partnership  with Atlas, as we have cultivated these relationships throughout the years.  These think tanks serve as our focal points for developing and identifying talent in the security arena of their respective regions.  Other think tanks are more “traditional” Atlas partners that primarily focus on economic research, however, recently they have turned some attention towards addressing security issues as part of their overall research agenda.  Finally, the remainder are think tanks that Atlas is loosely affiliated with, but recognizes as potential partners.

NORTH AMERICA

The Canadian Defense and Foreign Affairs Institute (CDFAI) aims to be a catalyst for innovative Canadian global engagement so that Canada has a respected, influential voice in the international arena based on a comprehensive foreign policy which expresses their national interests, political and social values, military capabilities, economic strength, and willingness to be engaged with action that is timely and credible.

EUROPE

The Prague Security Studies Institute (PSSI) aims to build an ever-growing group of informed and security-minded policy makers dedicated to the development of democratic institutions and values, in order to secure a democratic, free-market society in the Czech Republic and other post-communist states. They aim to identify and analyze foreign policy and security-related issues in the area of transatlantic relations, and to propose practical and prudent policies to address these and other security challenges

LATIN AMERICA
Fundacion Ideas para la Paz (FIP)was founded by a group of Colombian business people, who aim to contribute ideas and proposals to help overcome the armed conflict in Colombia, with support of the private sector. As part of this effort, they have created a Security & Defense program to research and analyze the various inter and intra-state security issues that are feuling the armed conflict in Colombia and the rest of Latin America. fip
