Atlas has entered into a friendly transaction with the Cato Institute, to bring to Atlas Tom Palmer and the team he has built to advance the ideas of liberty in a dozen different languages. These projects – which involve Web sites, student seminars, translations and other print publications, viral video, and student essay contests – are now organized as the Atlas Global Initiative for Free Trade, Peace, and Prosperity. (Follow the link for a full description of this work, and links to the Web sites that it has sponsored.)
Tom Palmer is now vice president for International Programs at Atlas, and the general director of the Atlas Global Initiative. He remains a Senior Fellow with the Cato Institute.
The transaction creates a number of exciting synergies that will expand Atlas’s outreach in parts of the world that have too little activity devoted to the ideas of liberty; at the same time, those who are exposed to products of the Atlas Global Initiative will now be linked into the Atlas network and the portfolio of training, networking and grant/prize programs that Atlas administers.
Atlas is deeply grateful to Ed Crane and its other friends at Cato who have entrusted these important projects to us. We expect to be busily reporting, over coming weeks and months, the accomplishments that will be achieved as we capitalize on having the Atlas Global Initiative team in-house at Atlas.
In addition to Tom, this team includes the following individuals as staff or regular contributors:

Excellent team, congratulations… am so much intrested in this program, with this the ideas of liberty will expands beyond borders.
Great network! Great team!
Amazing work - the miserable world of dictatorships in Africa and South America will keep shrinking as the horizon of liberty, prosperity and freedom expands. Thanks to ‘global citizens’ like Atlas and Tom. This is it!
Excellent video, team. I miss all of you very much - even though you’re only down the street. Normally, one would say,”Go out and conquer.” We say, “Go forth and persuade.”
Be brave, bold and brilliant.
Love, Ashley
