The bill included many of the recommendations in KEFiM’s Greece 2021 Agenda, including increased academic freedom, the ability to offer unique and innovative services, and the ability for schools to create their own internal rules and regulations. This outcome is the result of a multi-year campaign to liberate private schools from the top-down and one-size-fits-all framework they’ve endured over the past 40 years.
In addition to publishing the Greece 2021 Agenda, the KEFiM team met with and presented the report to lawmakers, including the Prime Minister. They provided reform-minded politicians with the ideological and policy arguments for this type of reform, utilizing robust media outreach to keep the issue in the public sphere.
Atlas Network supported the Greece 2021 Agenda with a grant.
